This project is a response to a brief called “Identity”. I aimed to depict a fictitious digital realm that presents the interconnectedness, alienation and inauthenticity of the online world through illustrative worldbuilding, later to be transferred into an audio-visual context.

Our protagonist is “Username 127”, his alien design is a literal metaphor of how it feels to be alienated by the digital world, He lives inside of this ecosystem where everyone is a slave to technology.

I envisioned the world to be sorrowful. Our character discovers “The machine”, a interconnected system of tubes and machinery that seems to be the thing powering this world.

These ideas were curated into an animated film and later was projected at an art and music event in Nottingham. All visuals and Sound design are done by myself.
